Overview:
Gopichand stars in “Bhimaa,” a cop drama directed by A. Harsha. The film, released on March 8, 2024, features Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma in significant roles, with music by Ravi Basrur.

Story:
Bhimaa, played by Gopichand, is a mischievous cop who falls for Vidya (Malavika Sharma). Vidya deeply respects an Ayurvedic doctor named Ravindra Varma (Nasser). When Ravindra Varma seeks Bhimaa’s help, trouble ensues, leading Bhimaa into a challenging situation. The film revolves around Bhimaa’s efforts to overcome these difficulties.

Performances:
Gopichand fits well into the role of a cop, but his exaggerated acting in the first half seems out of place. Malavika Sharma’s portrayal of a school teacher is overdone initially but gains some depth towards the end. Other cast members deliver decent performances, though some roles feel underutilized or miscast.

Analysis:
“Bhimaa” follows the journey of a principled police officer facing various challenges in Mahendragiri town. While the film starts impressively, it loses momentum due to unnecessary scenes and exaggerated sequences. However, the story gains traction with a twist before the interval, leading to a more engaging second half. Despite some predictable moments, the climax stands out as a highlight.
Overall, “Bhimaa” offers a commercial yet somewhat disjointed experience. While there are moments of excitement, viewers may find the first half sluggish. Gopichand’s quest for a hit film continues, and with the current direction choices, the road ahead might be challenging.
