Prathinidhi 2 Review: A Lukewarm Political Drama Attempt

Overview: “Prathinidhi 2,” starring Nara Rohit and directed by Murthy Devagupthapu, has hit the screens, promising an engaging political drama. However, the film fails to deliver on its potential, resulting in a rather underwhelming cinematic experience.

Synopsis: The movie revolves around Chetan (Nara Rohit), a bold journalist appointed as the CEO of the news channel NNC, dedicated to exposing political corruption. As the plot unfolds, Chetan dives into uncovering the truth behind the assassination of CM Prajapathi (Sachin Khedekar). While the first half focuses on Chetan’s efforts to unveil political malpractices, the second half delves into the investigation of the CM’s murder.

Pros and Cons: The film’s first half shines with its portrayal of political corruption and Rohit’s convincing performance as a dedicated journalist. Engaging dialogues and Sapthagiri’s comic timing add value. However, the second half disappoints with its illogical and melodramatic depiction of the investigation. The inclusion of commercial elements dilutes the movie’s message, ultimately leaving audiences wanting more.

Technical Aspects: While the editing maintains a decent pace, Mahati Swara Sagar’s music fails to make an impact, and Nani Chamidisetty’s cinematography is average. The director’s decision to incorporate unrealistic scenes and subpar VFX work further hampers the film’s quality.

Verdict: “Prathinidhi 2” falls short of expectations. Despite a promising premise and commendable performances, the film falters with its shallow writing and unrealistic sequences. While the first half offers some engaging moments, the lackluster second half fails to sustain the momentum, resulting in a disappointing viewing experience.

Prathinidhi 2 movie review: Nara Rohit’s return in a lukewarm political drama attempt. Despite some promising elements, the film struggles with shallow writing and unrealistic sequences.
